(7) Dayton or (10) Wichita State

Dayton (24-7)

Dayton was the regular season champions in the Atlantic 10, and they’re led by Archie Miller, one of the best up and coming young coaches in college basketball.

Miller is in his sixth season at Dayton, and in 2014 he took them all the way to the Elite Eight. Unfortunately this year he got a tough first round draw in Wichita State.

The Flyers have six wins over teams in the tournament, including four wins over RPI top 50 teams.

Wichita State (30-4)

According to most experts, Wichita State was snubbed more than any other team in the NCAA tournament. Despite ranking no. 19 in the AP poll and no. 31 in the RPI, the Shockers were stuck with a 10-seed in the tournament.

Wichita State enters the tournament with a 15-game winning streak, and they proved they can get it done when it matters most, in March. The Shockers have made it out of the first round in each of the last four tournaments, including a trip to the Final Four in 2013.

Despite their leading scorer, Markis McDuffie, averaging just 11.8 points per game, the Shockers are 20th in the nation in scoring, averaging 82.1 points per game. They’re also 14th in the nation in scoring defense, allowing 62.4 points per game.
