(1) North Carolina (27-7)

North Carolina has just about everything you could want. They have excellent guard play, plenty of size down low, and a star player to take the final shot with the game on the line.

The Tar Heels are second in the nation in assists, averaging 18.2 assists per game. They’re also first in the nation in rebounds, averaging 43.5 rebounds per game.

Justin Jackson was the ACC player of the year, averaging 18.1 points, 4.6 rebounds, and 2.7 assists per game.

When these two teams met back in December, it produced what might have been the game of the year in college basketball. The Wildcats won 103-100 in what was a star-studded slugfest.

Jackson scored 34 for the Tar Heels, but Monk led the way with 47 points, including a contested three-pointer that put the Wildcats up 1 with 19 seconds remaining.

If these two Blue Bloods of college basketball meet in the Elite Eight, we’re in for another instant classic.
