3. What should be the expectations for Mac this season?

Coach Mac has done some great things in his first two years at Florida with a limited offense. And like every coach, Mac has gotten a grace period in order to set things his way.

But now it is year three, and it seems that he has gotten the staff the way he wants it, as well as nearly having the offense the way he had envisioned it.

He has had several signature wins including a 28-point win against Ole Miss in 2015, and winning a “home” game on the road against LSU to win the East last year–sorry I would be remiss if I didn’t make that joke.

But he has yet to beat Florida State, and that has implications on the recruiting trail as well. He also has a matchup against Michigan, which will be a rematch from the 41-7 embarrassment from his first year with the Gators. And he also might get a third crack against the Roman Empire of college football, Alabama if he can make it back to Atlanta for a third consecutive year.

The stars have aligned for Jim McElwain to have himself a career-defining signature season. The question is will he take advantage of it?
