SEC Football: Ranking the SEC Football Coaches 14 through 8
By Matt Green
12. Mark Stoops, Kentucky
Stoops has shown improvement at Kentucky, but he basically had nowhere to go but up. After going 2-10 in his first season in Lexington, he followed it up with back-to-back 5-7 seasons, before going 7-6 in 2016.
The Wildcats are 19-30 since Stoops arrived at Kentucky, a .388 winning percentage.
Kentucky football fans were ready to give up on Stoops after a 2-3 start to last season, but the Wildcats nearly beat Georgia, then upset Heisman Trophy winner Lamar Jackson and Louisville in the season finale.
Stoops still has an uphill battle coaching at Kentucky, but things appear to be looking up.
