5. Kevin Sumlin, Texas A&M

The Johny Football era really increased the expectations in College Station for Sumlin. He entered the 2016 season on the hot seat, but after starting the season 7-1, he put that hot seat talk in the rear view mirror.

But things change quickly in the SEC. The Aggies went 1-4 in the last five games to finish with an 8-5 record for the third straight season.

Sumlin is 44-21 in his five years at Texas A&M, a .677 winning percentage, but he’s been in that good-not-great tier that will often get an SEC coach fired.
