No. 14: Ole Miss Rebels

Song Title: Forward Rebels

Not only is this musically a poorly constructed fight song with words that are as dated as a Studebaker (complete with a “Rah! Rah! Rah!”), but the fact that Ole Miss still clings to the “Rebels” via this fight song makes it by far the worst in the conference.

The opening fanfare sounds like a cross between a circus march and a chase scene from a Bugs Bunny cartoon, with several key signature changes which make little sense to help get a crowd pumped up.

Ole Miss would probably be better off relaxing fans to the Doobie Brothers classic Black Water rather than continuing to subject them to this musical black hole.
