LSU: Sept. 2 vs. BYU (Houston)

The Tigers and Cougars will open the season playing in the Texas Kickoff Classic at NRG Stadium in Houston. BYU went 9-4 last season, and they lost those four games by a total of eight points.

BYU is one of four Independents in college football, and they play a difficult schedule. Along with the Tigers, the Cougars also play Mississippi State, Wisconsin, Utah, and their annual rivalry against Boise State.

This is the first time these two teams have ever met.
