LSU
Ben Simmons, Marcus Thornton, Brandon Bass
LSU might be one of the most dangerous teams we’ve assembled. With Ben Simmons‘ ball-handling ability, he would run the point. Since he missed his entire rookie year, we’re judging him based on his one year in Baton Rouge, where he averaged 19.2 points, 11.8 rebounds, and 4.8 assists. Man, I can’t wait to watch this guy play in the NBA.
Marcus Thornton is the perimeter scorer this team needs. Even his nickname (according to his basketball-reference page) is Lil’ Buckets. He just finished eighth year in the NBA. Back in 2012, Thornton averaged 18.7 points for the Sacramento Kings.
And with those two guys doing the scoring, you need someone to do the dirty work, and that’s where Brandon Bass comes in. Bass would get on the glass like Simmons, and he also has the ability to knock down 15-footers. He’s averaged double-figures four times in his 12-year career and is a career 83 percent free throw shooter.
