Georgia

11-1 (7-1)

The SEC East should be Georgia’s for the taking in 2017. Stop me if you’ve heard that before. The Bulldogs went 8-5 in the first year of the Kirby Smart era last season with bad losses to Vanderbilt and Georgia Tech.

On one side you can look at Georgia’s 2016 schedule and say that they easily could have and arguably should have beaten Tennessee, Vanderbilt, and Georgia Tech, which would’ve made them 10-2. But on the other side, they also could’ve easily lost to Missouri, Nicholls, and Kentucky, which would’ve put them at 4-8 in the regular season.

This year’s team returns 10 starters on defense, the most in the SEC, and sophomore Jacob Eason should take a big step forward in year two. The difficult part about the Bulldogs’ schedule is that their five toughest games are all away from Athens. Georgia should have the talent to win every game they play this season, but it seems like they always drop a game or two that they should win.

The only game I have Georgia losing is Auburn, and I’m honestly not sure what to expect from the Tigers this season either.
