Florida

8-4 (6-2)

Florida is one of the more difficult teams to project this season. They seem like the exact opposite of Georgia. On paper, all signs point to the Bulldogs winning the East, but most people think Georgia will have a let down. Florida, on paper, seems to have a lot of shortcomings, but they’ve had those same shortcomings each of they past two seasons and yet they’ve still found a way to win the SEC East.

Florida lost six starters from last year’s defense, but they still have a lot of guys with experience on the defensive side of the ball. The biggest question mark for the Gators is the quarterback position, and all three quarterbacks have a chance to play in the season opener against Michigan.

The only conference games I see the Gators losing in 2017 are against Georgia and LSU. But I also have Florida losing to Michigan to open the season and Florida State to close the season. I just don’t think the Gators have the same firepower on defense to carry them to Atlanta for a third consecutive year.
