Auburn

8-4 (5-3)

Auburn is the single-most difficult SEC football team to predict. I would not be surprised to see the Tigers go 11-1 and play in the College Football Playoff, but I also wouldn’t be surprised to see Auburn go 7-5 and Gus Malzahn get fired at season’s end.

Jarrett Stidham is being viewed as the savior to Auburn football, but I’ve seen this story before and it seems eerily similar to the Jeremy Johnson hype of 2015. But something we’ve also seen before is a JUCO quarterback come to the Plains and lead the Tigers to a National Championship game appearance (See 2010 and 2013).

Auburn has to travel to defending national champion Clemson early in the season. And while Deshahun Watson is no longer there, I see Clemson winning that game. I also think the Tigers will lose on the road at LSU and Texas A&M. And for the fourth consecutive season, I think in-state rival Alabama will beat the Tigers.
