South Carolina

6-6 (3-5)

After starting the season 2-4, South Carolina went 4-3 after naming true freshman Jake Bentley the starting  quarterback. While they seem to be trending in the right direction, I don’t see them taking a significant step forward in 2017.

While they do return 10 starters from last year’s offense, their offense wasn’t exactly high-powered. They were 116th out of 128 teams in scoring offense, averaging 20.8 points per game.

I see The Gamecocks starting the season 3-1 with a win over Missouri, then losing six of their final eight games down the stretch, with their only wins coming against Vanderbilt and Wofford. Maybe year three will be better for Will Muschamp and the Gamecocks.
