SEC Football: Predicting every SEC team’s record for the 2017 season
By Matt Green
LSU
10-2 (6-2)
LSU started last season 2-2 and fired long-time head coach Les Miles. Ed Orgeron took over after that and the Tigers went 6-2 down the stretch and they looked like a different team.
LSU is always loaded with talent on the defensive side of the ball, and even though they lost over half of their defensive starters, I expect more of the same in 2017. And if the eight games under Orgeron are any indication, the Tigers may have figured out the offensive side of the ball as well.
I think LSU will stumble early and lose to Mississippi State, but the only other game I see LSU losing is their Nov. 4 showdown with the Alabama Crimson Tide. The SEC West is far from a cake-walk, but when it’s all said-and-done, I see the Tigers being the second best team in the West this season.
