SEC Football: The SEC West doesn’t look so big and bad anymore
By Ryan Micklin
LSU Tigers (3-2)
I don’t know what to make of LSU. LSU is always singled out as one of the few teams who can challenge Alabama for the lone spot atop the SEC West standings. You saw it last year in a 10-0 slugfest that remained scoreless for over three quarters. But if LSU’s embarrassing 24-21 loss to Troy this past Saturday is any indication, the scoreboard at the end of the Tigers’ annual matchup with the Crimson Tide in November could closely resemble the one that Alabama lit up in their 66-3 rout of Ole Miss late Saturday night.
LSU still fields a dangerous team, full of talent and potential; but there are a myriad of noticeable coaching issues and depth issues that have prompted fans everywhere to question the leadership and direction of this team under first-year head coach Ed Orgeron.
