As the college football season hits the halfway point, the SEC football slate now hits its stride. Auburn travels to Baton Rouge to face LSU in a rivalry that has a penchant for the weird. Alabama is once again a 20-plus point favorite against a conference foe. The drama surrounding Butch Jones’ job turns to a South Carolina team that defeated the Volunteers a year ago. A week full of conference matchups and intriguing lines highlight a pivotal weekend for SEC football.

Game of the Week: Auburn (-6.5) @ LSU

After a disappointing start to the season, the Auburn Tigers have played well enough in the last three weeks to right the ship and are the favorite heading into Baton Rouge. Against Missouri, Mississippi State, and Ole Miss, Auburn had 482, 511, and 561 yards of offense, respectively.

The LSU offense has been a stark contrast. They put 17 points on the board against the Florida Gators, and only 21 the preceding week against the Troy Trojans of the Sun Belt Conference. Ranking 73rd in passing offense, Danny Etling will need to have one of his better games to find success against one of the best defensive units in the SEC.
