SEC football now has two teams in the College Football Playoff top four, and every game will have a huge impact on the playoff rankings from here on out.

The SEC football schedule is now in the home stretch, with every game meaning more and more, particularly for Georgia and Alabama, who now sit at No. 1 and 2 in the College Football Playoff rankings.

Last week my SEC football picks were 4-2 ATS, making my record for the season a pretty decent 47-21 according to odds on SportsBookReview.com

SEC Football Dog of the Week

With some cupcake out of conference games going on, there were a from which to pick. This one was too good to pass up.

UMass Minutemen at No. 16 Mississippi State Bulldogs (-31.5)
12:00 pm – David Wade Stadium, Starkville, Ms.

There’s very little chance UMass wins this game, or even comes close to winning this game. If they were going to beat an SEC opponent, it would have been Tennessee.

Still, late in the season with Mississippi State still clinging to some slim hopes of winning the SEC West, it’s a safe bet that Dan Mullen won’t take any chances with his starters. Once the Bulldogs get out to a comfortable lead and the game is deep in the second half, Mississippi State will send the reserves in, and the score will stabilize.

Bulldogs win big, but probably not by more than 28 at most.
