Arkansas

In his opening press conference remarks, new  Arkansas head coach Chad Morris promised to prioritize in-state recruits and speed.

“You either have speed or you’re chasing speed, and you don’t want to be chasing speed.”

Morris then backed up his talk by raiding the commitment list of Mississippi State for Ashdown, Arkansas cornerback LaDarrius Bishop. With Bishop’s commitment already shaky after Mullen’s departure, Morris pounced.

Bring your own players

Morris is not picky about what commitment list he pilfers. After resigning as SMU head coach, he flipped wide receiver Mike Woods and offensive lineman Silas Robinson from SMU and will bring them to Arkansas.

Arkansas also lost recruits in the transition. Longtime Arkansas commitment BJ Hanspard II, son of Doak Walker winning Texas Tech running back Byron Hanspard, committed to Baylor.

The Razorbacks mutually parted ways with at least one commitment so far, running back Jeremy Gibson.
