Georgia’s Yante Maten is the SEC basketball Player of the Week. Maten averaged 27 points and nine rebounds in Georgia wins over Georgia Tech and Temple. Maten claimed his fifth double-double of the season and a fifth career 30 point game. A senior, Maten is now top ten all time on the Georgia scoring and rebounding lists.

SEC Freshman of the Week

Texas A&M’s Savion Flagg is the SEC basketball freshman of the week. Flagg averaged 16.5 points and nine rebounds in Aggie wins over Northern Kentucky and Buffalo. Flagg scored his first career double-double with a 12 point, 10 rebound effort against Northern Kentucky, then produced a personal-best 21 points in the win over Buffalo.
