Auburn basketball: Streaking Tigers bring nation’s longest winning streak to Coleman Coliseum

In the preseason, Auburn basketball was given a SEC prediction of just 4-14. Now the Tigers face Alabama as the top SEC team and arguably the hottest team in the country.

Raise your hands if you thought Auburn basketball would hold the nation’s longest winning streak halfway through January? No takers? Don’t worry. No one, including the Auburn faithful thought they would either.

To say that Auburn’s season has been a surprise would be an understatement. Auburn isn’t known for its basketball. After all the Tigers hadn’t been ranked since 2003 before this season. They are now ranked 17. The Tigers haven’t been to the NCAA tournament since 2003 either, but some bracketologists have them going this year as high as a four seed.
