High Expectations for Auburn basketball

When Auburn hired Bruce Pearl back in 2014, Tiger fans dreamed of the success that they are currently having, and for all intents and purposes it looked like they were on track to get there. In 2015, they made a magical run to the semifinals of the SEC tournament as just a 13 seed. In 2016, they ended an 18-game losing streak to the Kentucky.

2017-18 looked to be the turning point for the program. The Tiger’s had a strong core of highly touted players led by Mustapha Heron, Austin Wiley and Danjel Purifoy. But just when things look brightest for the Tigers, they hit a huge road block.
