The Auburn Tigers A Day will give us a chance to see for ourselves and form our own opinions, but for now we just have to go by what other people have seen and said. This spring has been eventful to say the least.

Defensive domination

The biggest headline that came out of the first scrimmage was that the defense dominated.

This is not surprising news. Auburn was without Jarrett Stidham and they are also replacing four starters along the offensive line. Frankly, it would be more worrisome if the defense hadn’t dominated.

the Auburn Tiger’s return a lot of talent from a group that has finished as one of the nation’s top defenses each of the last two years.

It all starts up front. Yeah Auburn lost Jeff Holland, which was a big blow, but they return their other three starters in Marlon Davidson, Dontavious Russell and Derrick Brown. NFL draft expert Mel Kiper thinks the Tigers have the talent to rival Clemson as the nation’s best defensive line.

We’ve seen this play out before, but all defensive line coach Rodney Garner does is plug the hole. First it was replacing Carl Lawson and now it’s Jeff Holland.

However, it seems as if the Tigers already have their answer, as T.D. Moultry has been a big name coming out of practice after having a productive freshman season as a backup last year.
