Defense

The LSU defense came through again Saturday by forcing the first shutout in Tiger Stadium since 2014. Dave Aranda called an excellent game. He dialed up many blitzes, stunts, and had his defensive line moving all game long.  LSU dialed up five sacks, ten tackles for loss, and had an opportune interception.

Defensive Line

After two games, it’s safe to say the defensive line is the strength of this football team. All across the board, four defensive lineman had great games for this LSU football team.

All defensive lineman in the game showed great athleticism and understanding of the defense, as Dave Aranda dialed up many stunts and slants across the defensive line. Resulting in many unblocked opportunities on the night, the defensive line was able to capitalize.

Rashard Lawrence, Breiden Fehoko, and Neil Farrell, Jr. combined for 15 total tackles, 2.5 sacks, and 5 tackles for loss. Fehoko and Lawrence looked dominant up front, as they were first off the ball numerous times, and Farrell stole the show by taking advantage of his increase playing time and getting home on many occasions.
