Special Teams

More consistency again from the LSU special teams unit is great to see. What was once an inhibiting factor for LSU, the special teams unit is frequently showing they are a strength of this team.

Cole Tracy converted yet another 50 yard field goal this week. Zach Von Rosenberg averaged 44 yards per punt and had 4 inside the 20. Also, Jonathan Giles picked up a big 20 yard punt return that set up LSU’s second touchdown drive. Also, let’s not forget Avery Atkins. Southeastern had zero kick returns on the day and has now gone two games without a kick out-of-bounds.

Special Teams MVP: Cole Tracy

Overall

In a game two penalties away from busting wide open, this LSU football team will have plenty to be excited about from their young players, but plenty to work on for their starters. Overall, a fine performance that could’ve been so much better.

Offensive MVP: RB Nick Brossette

Defensive MVP: Neil Farrell Jr.

Next. How to predict the SEC. dark

Coming next week, LSU travels to seventh ranked Auburn. Since 2000, LSU has only traveled to Auburn and won twice.
