Georgia football brings no sack defense to Columbia
The key to stopping Lock
What will it take for the Dawgs to get their hands on Missouri quarterback Drew Lock?
“We’ve got to be able to be two-way players,” Georgia defensive lineman Julian Rochester said to Tom Brew of Saturday Down South. “We have to be able to turn it on when we have to against teams that like to pass the ball, and we have to hold the point and stop the run. It’s a challenge from [Smart] to us to be able to go ahead and make that change.”
If the Missouri football team was a one trick passing pony, Georgia fans would not need to be concerned. The Tigers, however, are rushing for over 200 yards a game. They also boast seven pre-season. All-SEC picks, including kicker Tucker McCann and punter Corey Fatony.
Early game indicator
Missouri started the season as the likely runner-up to Georgia in the East. A win over Georgia puts the Columbia Tigers in the driver’s seat on the drive to Atlanta.
Expect the Georgia defensive backs to play well against Missouri’s talented receivers, including preseason All-SEC wide receiver Emanuel Hall and tight end matchup nightmare Albert Okwuegbunam.
Still, to know if you can step out of the house in the second half, watch the Georgia pass rush. If the Dawgs affect Lock early and get their hands on him in the first and second quarter, you can volunteer for that fourth quarter beer run.
