Dr. Jekyll – Mr. Hide offense

Jake Fromm couldn’t hit a tire hanging in the backyard from the porch to open the game. On the other hand, he went on to strike deep time and again in the second half, leading to a 20 yard per pass completion average and three touchdowns during a 7 of 9 run to close out the win.

The mini-Real Deal

Georgia offensive coordinator Jim Chaney rolled out a short yardage gimmick play package – including Trey Hill jumbo fullback, Mecole Hardeman wildcat, and a Justin Fields one play substitution. Each worked like a cheerleader drew it up on the sidelines.

To counter the coaching, two-year up mop tailback Elijah Holyfield seized the moment to run for 90 yards on 14 carries. When he wasn’t abusing Missouri defenders with the rock in his hand, he was rocking Missouri pass rushers so Fromm could go long.

While the rest of the offense napped between series, the wide receivers had a meeting of the minds. After Simmons left the game, they blocked like lineman for the running game and commanded the Missouri secondary to bend to their will.
