LSU – Ole Miss football duel a southern affair
Ole Miss football aerial counter attack
On the other side of the ball, Ole Miss will counter with it’s aerial circus featuring quarterback Jordan Ta’amu and receiver AJ Brown and company. Like the LSU offensive line, there is injury concern for Ole Miss, but not much.
Ole Miss head coach Matt Luke reported, “We rested [Ta’amu] yesterday, we’ll rest today as well. He won’t do much, then we’ll go out there and he’ll be full go tomorrow.”
“AJ Brown did tweak his hamstring. The prognosis has been good moving forward. I think it’s very minor. He’ll run around some today. I think he’s probable.”
Confident LSU defenders
Ole Miss can count on LSU countering its passing assault with confidence.
“We want them to throw, though,” said LSU linebacker Devin White. “I think our DBs, I think last week made them mad. They got something to prove this week. I’m ready for them to accept the challenge.”
Indeed, the Tigers played pretty lousy in the defensive backfield last week against Louisiana Tech.
“Things like this will happen to you at the defensive back area,'” said LSU defensive back Greedy Williams. “‘It’s just how you can bounce back.'”
LSU has a splendid secondary, and Ole Miss will test it thoroughly on Saturday. Orgeron summed up the challenge when he was asked if he planned to match Greedy Williams, one of the top defenders in the SEC, against Ole Miss ace receiver Brown.

“If you put one guy on him, you have trouble with the other one,” Orgeron said.
That’s pretty much the Ole Miss plan. Create more trouble for the defense than it can handle. LSU will have to counter with an offensive explosion of it’s own.
