While Georgia football fans weep and wail over the Georgia rushing attack, two freshman step up to keep the Dawg offense driving toward a date with Alabama.

The talk around Athens Town is Georgia football doesn’t look like the hot stuff Dawg fans expected. As usual at Running Back U, the complaints start with the running game.

Not so fast, Dawg people.

Thanks to superbly talented Georgia football freshmen Cade Mays and Justin Fields, the Dawg rushing attack is on track.

Mays is a man

Down two starters already on the offensive line, left tackle Andrew Thomas and right guard Ben Cleveland, perhaps the Dawgs two best lineman,  Georgia offensive line coach Sam Pittman played his freshman wild card to keep the Georgia rushing attack rolling, Cade Mays. Mays first filled in for Thomas at left tackle before moving to right guard to replace Cleveland.

With Mays patching holes, up front, the Bulldogs are rushing the ball better than last year’s national runner-up. Georgia has rushed for 65 more yards this season than at the same point last year on 28 fewer carries. The Dawgs are also the thirteenth best rushing team in the nation going into this week’s Vanderbilt game, and the rank number 19 on yards per attempt.
