UPDATED: Georgia football’s most memorable wins over Florida
Four whole days
In 1985, the Gators gained their first-ever number one ranking on Tuesday the week of the Georgia – Florida game. The ranking lasted for four days. Georgia students, well studied in Art of the Gator Taunt, made sure the Florida fans leaving the Gator Bowl early took the knowledge with them.
The Bulldogs rolled up 344 yards rushing, 104 by Keith Henderson and 145 by Tim Worley, and the Bulldogs won their eight in ten tries against the Gators. The 24 – 3 score did not do justice to the butt whooping.
Taking up the chant that began in the sun-baked Georgia student section, Georgia fans yelled, “Four whole days” for 365 days.
