Number two: the Bear gets 315

In 1981, the Iron Bowl against Auburn, Alabama coach Paul Bear Bryant earned his 315th career victory after beating the Tigers 28-17. With the win, Coach Bryant passed Amos Alonzo Stagg to become the winningest all time FBS coach at that time. This was the last game in Alabama’s nine game winning streak over Auburn, the longest in Iron Bowl history. Growing up in the South, the 315 wins was something I knew about personally from older family and how big that was in the sport of college football.
