Number one: Kick Six

In 2013 both teams competed in the highest combined team ranking Iron Bowl of all time. The number one-ranked Alabama Crimson Tide faced the number four-ranked Auburn Tigers looking to earn a third straight trip to the BCS national title game. The Tigers played the Tide to with one second left. Game tied 28-28, Alabama coach Nick Saban chose to go for a 57 yard field goal as time expired. Adam Griffith’s kick was returned from the end zone down the sideline 109 yards for the game-winning touchdown by Auburn’s Chris Davis.

This was one of the most improbable moments in sports history and it became known as the “Kick Six” game. The 2013 Iron Bowl won the Espy Award for Best Game of the Year in any sport and the final play by Davis won the Espy Award for “Best Play” of the year.
