Welcome home

The Georgia football team may or may not organize a welcoming parade down Milledge Avenue – it appears to be a possibility given the collective Twitter welcome Bennett received. It’s a pretty good bet he won’t have to carry his own bags.

The final piece to the 2019 puzzle

Despite the abundant four and five-star talent harvested this week, Bennett is the missing piece Georgia needed to run a 12 game gauntlet that will include Notre Dame and Texas A&M at home and every one of its arch rivals on the road. The reason is Bennett knows the Georgia offense, he is a talented thrower, and the Dawgs believe in him.

He is that rarest of rares – a newcomer that has already earned the full confidence of the staff and the players.

Plus, he can play.

The Beast

Former Georgia defensive coordinator Mel Tucker called the 5′ 11″and 190 pounder “The Beast” from the defensive side of the ball.

“Stetson Bennett is a beast, man,” Tucker told Onlineathens.com a year ago. “Stetson Bennett puts a lot of pressure on our defense, because he is extremely quick, he’s fast and he can throw. He can throw in the pocket and he can throw on the run, and he’s very, very competitive.”
