Georgia needs a well-connected offensive coordinator, a recruiter that will nurture young quarterbacks and put points on the board. Could it be Mike Bobo?

Mike Bobo is excited about the 2019 season at Colorado State, but it’s just a matter of time before comes home to the South. The only question is when and which southern school he chooses. And, yes, when he does, he will have his choice. Will it be Georgia football?

That’s a definite maybe.

The match game

Where Georgia football’s  offensive line coach Sam Pittman’s line seemed to zig, recently departed offensive coordinator Jim Chaney‘s offense occasionally zagged. On the other hand, at Georgia and at Colorado State, Bobo and offensive line coach Will Friend were each the yin to the other’s offensive yang. It’s hard to imagine Mike Bobo at Georgia not taking advantage of what may very well be the best offensive line in football for the next three years.

Meanwhile in Fort Collins, after a 3-8 season in 2019, Mike Bobo’s future as a college head coach is set. After securing 2016 and 2017 recruiting classes that ranked second in the Mountain West Conference, the 2018 and 2019 recruiting classes ranked fourth. Bobo won’t rise to a Power Five program, at least not from his current perch at Colorado State, and keeping his job will be a tough pull after 2021.

Does that make Bobo and Georgia a match?
