SEC football: Top Five players in 2019 NFL Conference Championships
Mark Barron was the second-leading tackler for the Los Angeles Rams. He recorded nine total tackles, seven solo, and two assists. Cory Littleton led the Rams in tackles for the game.
The former Alabama player was one of the critical pieces for the Rams slowing down New Orleans run game. He helped hold the Saints to just 77 total rushing yards.
One of the keys for the Rams to win the game was to shut down the rush attack. All of Barron’s nine tackles were on either Ingram or Kamara. He was solely responsible with slowing down two power backs and essentially made them obsolete in the game.
Barron is a 6-2 230 pound inside linebacker commanded the field. He showed off his leadership skills during the game on Sunday, and how important he is to the defense.
Without Barron, the outcome of this game would have likely not been the same. He flew all over the field and kept his eyes on his two targets. Barron did his job well and helped send the Los Angeles Rams to Atlanta for the teams first super bowl since 2000.
Gurley is usually the main SEC player that makes noise for the Rams, but the unsung hero for LA on Sunday was Barron.
