After the Missouri Tigers received sanctions for NCAA transgressions, black and gold paws pointed at North Carolina. Fortunately for the people of Missouri, the Tigers aren’t Tar Heels.

Fans are crying foul over recent NCAA sanctions assessed against Missouri Tigers athletics. Going to the replay, the no-call against the North Carolina Tar Heels easily supports the Tigers’ pleas.

Despite the local and national rage, the complaint rings hollow. Missouri admitted to violations of its own academic honor code to help athletes. Also , Missouri now has had two Level 1 cases in three years, and that didn’t help much.

The sanctions are harsh, and the pill even harder to swallow when considering North Carolina committed university wide academic fraud in support of its athletic programs. The problem, of course, is that university wide academic fraud is not an NCAA violation.
