Yes, you read that right. Tennessee ranks as the No. 3 recruiting class for my rankings. As for 247Sports rankings, the Volunteers rank as the No. 12 overall class and the No. 7 in the SEC.

However,  the Volunteers did a great job and managed to grab two of the best offensive linemen in the class.

As a whole, Tennessee’s class includes two 5-stars, 11 4-stars, and 10 3-stars.

The Volunteers beat out the Gators because they signed 5-star offensive tackle Darnell Wright from West Virginia and 5-star tackle Wayna Morris from Georgia.

It’s hard to sign one five-star offensive tackle, much less two of them. Wright ranks as the No. 10 player and the No. 2 OT in the country. He was one of the most sought after players in the country, and he went to Knoxville.

Morris who ranks as the No. 6 OT and the No. 28 overall player made his decision to join Tennessee back in May.

Will Friend has done a phenomenal job during this 2019 cycle, and if he can develop these two, Tennessee’s offensive line will improve drastically.

Tennessee also managed to grab four-star athlete Quavaris Crouch. This four-star can do it all and will likely be a guy who will get some immediate playing time.

The Volunteers also managed to pluck one of the best wide receivers from the state of Georgia. Ramel Keyton is a 6-3 185-pound wideout that has a ceiling I  don’t think he realizes he has.

Now it gets even more interesting. Tennessee not only signed the above guys but the No. 1 JUCO defensive tackle Savion Williams. He is a massive grab that can contribute right away in Knoxville.

Then head coach Jeremey Pruitt put together one of the most underrated secondary classes in the SEC. Tennessee signed five defensive backs in this class.

Jaylen McCollough and Warren Burrell are two of the most underrated cornerbacks in the state of Georgia and the country.

Pruitt knows how to develop secondary players and these two guys have a lot of upside that the head coach can work with and develop.

However, despite all of that, the biggest reason the Volunteers sit at No. 3 on my list, is their ability to keep four-star linebacker Henry To’oto’o from Alabama.

Tennessee needed a linebacker and only signed one, To’oto’o.

The linebacker is a typical west coast guy and will likely morph into an inside linebacker rather an outside guy as his rankings suggest.

Tennessee made some big moves in the 2019 class and rank No. 3 deservingly for managing to grab all these impressive prospects.
