A Quick Look at the 2019 Rebels Schedule

Reminder – the bowl ban is over, and Ole Miss is eligible to go bowling in 2019, but can they get there?

Let’s split the schedule into three sections:

The Opening Month

Ole Miss football will not get to ease into the 2019 season.

A road trip to the Liberty Bowl to face a tough Memphis team is followed by three straight home games against an improving Arkansas, a cupcake opponent (Southeastern), and a tough Cal team that knocked off Pac-12 Champion Washington and USC in 2018.

The Rebs will then travel to Alabama to face the Crimson Tide to close out the first month of the season.

It’s not difficult to imagine a scenario where Ole Miss is sitting at 1-4 entering October.

Midseason

Next up, the Rebels host Vandy, take a road trip to face Kelly Bryant and Missouri. Then Ole Miss welcomes Jimbo Fisher’s second Aggies squad to The Grove before the first of two bye weeks on the schedule.

This will be a crucial stretch in determining whether Ole Miss football will go bowling.

Final Stretch

A road trip to Auburn is followed by home dates with New Mexico State and LSU. The Rebels will take their second bye before their Thanksgiving evening road trip to Starkville to play Mississippi State.
