Kentucky football had one of its most successful seasons in 2018. Now the Wildcats look to mimic that success, and it all begins this spring.

The state of Kentucky isn’t just a basketball state anymore, Kentucky football put itself on the map last season and showed that it could compete in football as well.

Kentucky had one of its best seasons in 40 years. The Wildcats went 10-3 on the year and finished on a three-game winning streak.

Head coach Mark Stoops heads into his seventh season. He has slowly developed this program into an SEC East force.

The Wildcats lost some crucial players after the 2018 season, and now replacements must be found. Two of the most critical replacements Kentucky needs to find is for star running back Benny Snell and outside linebacker Josh Allen.

Kentucky also lost the starting right side of the offensive line. Bunchy Stallings and George Asafo-Adjei both graduated. According to a 247Sports article, C.J. Conrad, Dorian Baker and David Bouvier are some other players not with the program anymore.

However, Kentucky has some playmakers returning as well. Starting quarterback Terry Wilson is back for another season along with wideout Lynn Bowden.

Not to mention the 2019 signees coming into campus to compete and find their place.

Kentucky finished the 2019 recruiting cycle with, according to 247Sports Composite rankings, the No. 35 overall class and the No. 12 SEC class.

If Stoops and his team want to continue the success it had last season, there are a few areas they need to work on this spring.

Here are three things Kentucky needs to address this spring and to look for during the Blue-White Spring Game in a couple of weeks.
