887. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. . Vanderbilt Commodores. 7th. player. Derek Mason

Realistically, not many people expect much from a program that prides itself on academic talent, but Derek Mason has seemingly upped the stakes at Vanderbilt after beating a slew of more talented teams throughout his six-year tenure with the Commodores.

But after a horrendous 2019 campaign, it looks like he will be fighting for his job in 2020.

The offense suffered from horrendous quarterback play that resulted in a 50% touchdown/interception ratio by the end of last season. And truthfully, I would love to say that Mason finds a way through the treacherous SEC schedule, but I don’t think that will be the case.

After losing leading rusher Ke’shawn Vaughn to the NFL, Vanderbilt should struggle to get any production on offense. The quarterback battle is in place, but neither candidates should make a dent in the problems that Vanderbilt will face.

The Commodores also finished next to last in the SEC on the defensive side of the football in 2019. Expect to see minimal improvement there.

Look for another disappointing year in Nashville as the 2020 season concludes Mason’s tenure at Vanderbilt.

Projection: 4-8, (0-8 SEC)

Pick Analysis. Missouri Tigers. 6th. player. 822. Scouting Report. Eli Drinkwitz.

Missouri football has truly been through it for the past couple of seasons. The problems spectrum from coaching changes to NCAA sanctions which has subsequently hurt recruiting and put the program at a standstill.

As a result of lackluster performances, the Tigers decided to part ways with Barry Odom. Now, Eli Drinkwitz is expected to reignite the team with the help of TCU quarterback transfer Shawn Robinson who threw for 1,334 yards in 2018.

But last season’s starter Taylor Powell should also make a push for the starting job.

I would like to say that the Tigers will show improvement in 2020, but I just don’t see it happening under the first-year head coach.

But one season won’t pinpoint the trajectory of Missouri’s future, which has the potential to get back in the good graces of the football Gods.

Just expect for it to come later rather than sooner.

Projection: 4-8, (2-6 SEC)
