Florida International

Butch Davis inherited a disaster when taking over at Florida International in 2016. And for the past few seasons, the Panthers have been playing catch-up to their in-state rival Florida Atlantic. Just last season, Davis finished 6-7 after struggling through most of the year.

It’s true that selling Taulia on a mediocre team will be tough, but what makes the Panthers so appealing is not their record, but instead it is the obvious vacancy at the quarterback position.

The 2020 draft collected the Panthers’ James Morgan, who managed to throw for over 2,500 yards in his final year at Florida International.

Sure, FIU is a tough pitch, but Butch Davis proved that he can develop a quarterback and subsequently send him to the NFL.

I can imagine that Tagovailoa took note of this while searching for his next destination.
