Power ranking SEC football uniforms
By Ty Butler
10. Texas A&M
The Aggies’ uniforms are a souped-up version of MSU’s threads. The stripes on top of the shoulders makes the team highly recognizable and the Texas logo on the pants are a great touch. But the reflective numbers are a bit outdated and are a little too reminiscent of the Manziel days. Again, the maroon and white just doesn’t do much for me.
9. Kentucky
The Wildcats have certainly climbed up the uniform ladder after making some major tweaks throughout the past few years. And while the checkers add some spice, it also seems like a meager attempt to attach themselves to their juggernaut of a basketball team. Still, the royal blue really pops on TV and pushes Kentucky to number nine.
8. Tennessee
Say what you want about the unique orange tone, but there’s no doubt that the historic orange and white happens to be one of the most recognizable threads in all of football. The Vols recently moved towards a traditional look and added black cleats, which I’m not a huge fan of. Still, not a bad look for the Volunteers.
7. LSU
In 1958, head coach Paul Dietzel decided to wear white jerseys at home- LSU ended up winning the national championship that season and haven’t looked back since. The Tigers’ purple and gold scheme works great together, but the difference maker happens to be the helmets. An overall classic uniform that stands out without doing too much.
