SEC Football Fan Rankings: Kentucky
For being a “basketball school” Kentucky fans actually do get excited about football season now and then. It seems Big Blue Nation is really starting to buy-in to what Mark Stoops is building in Lexington.
Even so, they still lag a bit when it comes to being a really vocal and supportive fan base for the rest of the conference to see. Even when football season is closer to starting, there’s still more chatter about the basketball team going on, which is fairly understandable.
Stoops and his team have been once again stepping up the recruiting game, and each time they do that it brings a little more sizzle to the fans and pumps them up a little. However, you get the feeling most Kentucky football fans are just waiting for the late-season swoon the once again lands the Cats in the “close but no cigar” category.
Props to Wildcat fans for making some noise. Maybe a serious run at the SEC East will energize them fully this year.
