Alabama football added another piece to their 2021 class after a highly sought-after safety committed to the Tide.

After news broke that Taulia Tagovailoa decided to enter the transfer portal, Alabama football needed something good to happen.

And it definitely happened.

4-star safety Kaine Williams ultimately decided to commit to Saban and the Tide. Williams took to Twitter Friday evening to announce that he would be joining Alabama football in the fall of 2021.

Alabama has been known to go after defensive backs with a rather large stature. The 6’2, 205 pound free safety has the perfect size for Saban’s system and is actually one of the bigger safeties in the 2021 class.

But he’s not just another big body roaming the backfield. After watching his highlight tape, it’s obvious that he has a knack for the football and always ends up in the right place at the right time. This isn’t by luck.

Williams knows how to position himself on the football field and has the instinct to take advantage of mistakes and deflected passes.

Gabe Brooks, from 247 Sports predicts that Williams could potentially move into a hybrid linebacker-safety role and play closer to the line in Saban’s defensive scheme. This wouldn’t be all that surprising after watching Williams score on big hits throughout his junior year.

Either way, I’m sure that the Tide will find a way to get good mileage out of the versatile defender from John Ehret High School.

It’s a win-win for everyone except opposing teams- Alabama finds a way to snag the number ten ranked safety in the nation and Williams joins one of the best feeder programs in NFL history.

After signing Williams, Alabama football managed to jump from forty-four to forty-one in the 2021 recruiting rankings; however, don’t let the low ranking fool you. There’s still over a year left to move up on the charts- and they will.

Altogether, Kaine Williams provides immediate impact when he finally steps into Tuscaloosa. There’s a lot to be happy about here, if you’re an Alabama football fan.
