SEC Football Predictions: LSU Tigers

The defending national champions will be without some major pieces in 2020- including the once in a lifetime quarterback Joe Burrow.

That alone is enough to cripple most teams; however, Orgeron has built a stable team in Baton Rouge and the team will showcase a brand new passer in Myles Brennan.

Last year, Brennan only attempted 40 throws while riding the bench behind the Heisman winner.

It’s now his time to fill the huge shoes that Burrow has left behind.

This won’t be any easy task, but the Tigers possess one of the best receivers in college football to help the first-year starting quarterback. Ja’marr Chase will be expected to have another spectacular season after putting up insane numbers last year.

On defense, LSU will be without 7 starters, but should find some competency with the well-groomed batch of athletes.

Altogether, the season will be riding on the shoulders of Brennan, and if the defense can step up, the Tigers should have a solid year.

But not many teams, if any, can live up to the historical 2019 season, so don’t get your hopes up Tiger fans. It’s highly unlikely that there will be a repeat.

Projection: 9-3 (5-3, SEC)
