SEC Football Predictions: Auburn Tigers

When you manage to snag a 5-star quarterback, it’s certain that high expectations will follow. Thankfully, Bo Nix managed to keep most of Tiger nation happy during his freshman year.

And though his stats won’t necessarily pop out at you, his raw talent leaves him with a high ceiling that he hopes to reach by the end of his college career.

Last year Nix threw for just 9 touchdowns and 5 interceptions, but showed exceptional leadership and made just enough plays to help lead Auburn to a postseason Outback Bowl game.

This year, the Tigers happened to draw one of the toughest cross-divisional group of games in the conference with meetings against Georgia, Kentucky and South Carolina.

Overall, it looks like only two things can keep Auburn and Malzahn out of the SEC Championship game: Georgia and Alabama. Although, we could have said the same thing last season, but the Tigers ended up rolling the Tide in the final game of the year.

Finishing 2nd in the SEC West isn’t anything to cry about, but it looks like they’ll have to pull off another set of unlikely wins if they want to pass up Alabama for the first place spot.

Projection: 10-2 (6-2, SEC)
