SEC football: Is Jeremy Pruitt just Butch Jones in disguise?
I think it’s best to let the facts speak for themselves. Now, I’m not saying that Jeremy Pruitt will be the next Butch Jones.
But I’m definitely steering clear of naming him the next SEC title contender anytime soon.
It’s obvious that there are some similarities in the beginning of each of their careers. Will Pruitt’s fate be the same as Jones’? For the sake of Vol nation, let’s hope not.
I do think it’s best for Volunteer fans to pump the breaks on high expectations which always seems to destroy the team’s confidence.
For the past 14 years, there have only been 5 different head coaches to win a national title- most being repeat champions.
The likelihood of your coach being one of them is very slim; however, if it finally happens, enjoy it.
Now, I’m not sure if the fanbase is expecting national championships in the near future- hopefully not, but if they are, it may be time to take a step back and remember that it takes time.
Just because your team wins 7 games in a season doesn’t mean that they’re going to win 10 the following year.
It seems that Tennessee fans always set unreachable goals for their beloved team. Realistically, sometimes you’re just not talented enough to obtain them.
Heck, maybe Jeremy Pruitt is the answer. There’s really no way of knowing until the games are played and the season comes to an end.
Although, I do think it’s wise to have some suspicions given the program’s track record.
After all, who would want to invest so much only to be letdown by another Butch Jones led team?
