Rakeem Boyd will return to Arkansas football in 2020

One of the most durable and versatile players in the SEC will be returning to help lead the charge for change in Arkansas.

Rakeem Boyd could have easily passed up his senior eligibility and went straight to the NFL Draft. Instead, he decided to be apart of refinement in Fayetteville.

You have to respect it.

Boyd’s sheer presence should make life easier for the entire team as a whole. Not only does he provide an offensive spark, but he should also give the Razorbacks’ some valuable touches that will prove to wear defenses down.

In 2019, Boyd averaged almost 16 carries a game. And while he may see fewer touches in 2020 due to added weapons, we should anticipate a well-rested tail back that strikes when least expected.

Boyd rushed for over 100 yards in 5 games last season, placing him 6th in the SEC for rushing leaders.

Sadly, most of his greater performances were forgotten thanks to embarrassing losses at the hands of far less-talented football teams.

Realistically, when you almost break 200 yards during a home game against Western Kentucky, it’s always going to be overshadowed when you lose.

Hogs’ fans are hoping that those days are behind them.

And with the return of Boyd, I’m sure they are.
