Arkansas football: 5 reasons why the Razorbacks will improve in 2020

The beginning of a new age for Arkansas football
The Hogs reached a new kind of low during the infamously forgettable Morris era. A low that the fanbase didn’t even know was possible.
And though losses to San Jose State, North Texas, Colorado State and Western Kentucky were embarrassingly disturbing, it helped spring the realization that things were obviously headed in the wrong direction.
Thankfully, those days are in the rear-view mirror and it’s time to look into the future. Instead of sitting through another Morris-lead season, Arkansas decided to take a stand.
A much needed stand, at that.
And while there’s still a long way to go before the Hogs escape the bottom portion of the SEC, the 2020 year will signify something greater.
2020 highlights the beginning of clearer days in Fayetteville. It also marks the introduction of Sam Pittman’s career with his former football team.
There’s a lot of holes that Pittman needs to figure out if he wants to field a competitive team; however, there’s really nowhere to go but up.
If there’s one good thing that fans can reflect on from 2018-19, it’s that those horrific years left plenty of room for improvement.
Now, defining improvement for the 2020 Arkansas team is somewhat difficult. Of course, fans won’t be thrilled over a 3-9 record with just 1 in-conference win, but it just so happens to be the situation that the program has found itself in.
Nonetheless, this upcoming season is about patience and understanding- the last two words Arkansas would like to hear.
If Coach Pittman can get that, I believe we’ll see significant improvement in Fayetteville.
It just takes time.
