SEC football predictions: Alabama, Arkansas, Auburn, Florida

Alabama Crimson Tide: Bryce Young starts before week 6

The commitment of Bryce Young really threw a wrench into the quarterback room. After Mac Jones took over for Tua Tagovailoa last season, it seemed that Jones had the 2020 starting role on lock. Now? Not so much. Look for Young to come in at some point during the season and never look back.

Arkansas Razorbacks: Feleipe Franks throws for 2,500 yards

Arkansas quarterbacks had quite the year in 2019- not in a good way. Combined, they threw for only 14 touchdowns and added 14 interceptions. Heck, even the punter threw an interception! Don’t be surprised if Franks finds success with the Razorbacks’ talented trio of wideouts in Kendal Briles’ system. Running back Rakeem Boyd should also lend a helping hand by keeping defenses on their toes

Auburn Tigers: Tigers reach 11 wins

The Tigers made a couple of tweaks for the 2020 season, but the narrative should remain the same: is Auburn more than just pulling off Auburn-type things? Sure, improbable wins over Alabama every other year is pretty great, but will they finally take the next step? With the return of a more polished Bo Nix and with the OC hire of Chad Morris, it’s certainly up for debate.

Florida Gators: Gators return to Atlanta

There’s little doubt that Kyle Trask will improve from his surprisingly successful 2019 campaign. But the season truly rides on whether Dan Mullen can improve a run game that finished 13th in the SEC. Thanks to returning starters and transfers on the offensive line, all fingers point towards potential progress. We’ll see if Mullen can finally one-up the folks in Athens.
