SEC football predictions: Ole Miss, Missouri, South Carolina, Tennessee

Ole Miss Rebels: Kiffin’s offense averages 40+ points per game

When Lane Kiffin arrives as your football coach, just expect two things: Hilarious tweets and offensive fire power. If he can prove that Plumlee is more than just a running passer, we may see the reputation continue. I do believe that the Rebels’ defensive struggles bleed into 2020, forcing the offense to keep them in games and score more points.

Missouri Tigers: Drinkwitz gets 8 wins

ESPN’s FPI system currently has the Tigers winning just 6 games in 2020, but a win against BYU and Kentucky could be all the difference in 6 and 8 wins- certainly doable. And while there’s not a whole lot of attention on Missouri football, they have the potential to quietly show major improvements from their 2019 campaign which ended in Barry Odom’s termination.

South Carolina Gamecocks: Muschamp is fired

After finishing with one of the worst records in his career in 2019, Muschamp just held on by the skin of his teeth thanks to a win in Athens, Georgia. The Gamecocks tout one of the toughest schedules in the SEC next season- not good news for Muschamp. I think we can expect the patience to run dry in Columbia.

Tennessee Volunteers: Pruitt lands pay dirt with underdog win.

There’s no doubt that Tennessee football has improved, little by little, during Pruitt’s tenure in Knoxville. In 2020, the Vols will travel to Oklahoma and Georgia, but enjoy two home games against Alabama and Florida. There’s no doubt that Tennessee will be the heavy dogs in all of these matchups, but look for Pruitt to find a way to come out on top in one of them.
