Alabama football: Outside Linebacker (JACK)

Projected Starter: Christopher Allen (R-JR)

It’s likely that Allen will snag the starting role at Jack linebacker after playing in all 13 games last season. Although most of his time was spent behind Anfernee Jennings in 2019, he’s equipped the most playing experience because of it. I think we can expect to see his output increase as he takes on the starting role at Jack.

Second Team: William Anderson (FR)

Anderson is a former 5-star recruit that will be expected to play the backup role that Chris Allen occupied last season- it’s unlikely that he’ll start in any games during 2020, but we can expect for him to get action in all of them. There’s little doubt that he’ll eventually become a pivotal piece in the Alabama defense thanks to his size and talent, but experience will be Anderson’s setback in 2020.

Reserves: Chris Braswell (FR), Kevin Harris (R-FR), Jarez Parks (R-SO)

Much like Anderson, Chris Braswell is another former 5-star recruit who we can expect to see on the field in 2020. It’s probable that Braswell and Anderson will split time behind the starter, Christopher Allen.

After redshirting his freshman season, Kevin Harris will look to fight his way through the talented roster of Jack defenders. Although he may not be as talented as the three before him, Harris has decent size and 1-year of experience.

Jarez Parks redshirted his freshman year, but did make an impressive play last season after rushing an Ole Miss QB, which resulted in an interception. I think we’ll have to see more of the same from Parks if he wants to accumulate playing time in 2020.
